About The Position

We are seeking a Float Pool CNA, also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele CNA. The Float Pool CNA assist nurses by providing basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. Float Pool CNA’s play a critical role in observing patients, reporting changes, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment to promote recovery. Shifts Available: Nights. Employment Type: Full Time. Floating Departments: Medical-Surgical and Telemetry Units. Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS.

Requirements

Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required
Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology

Nice To Haves

Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred
Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with daily living activities, provide basic nursing care, and help maintain a safe environment.
Help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
Take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
Help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.
Ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning and alert registered nurses when alarms go off.
Monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staff.
