About The Position

DaVita is seeking a Float Patient Care Technician who is looking to make an exceptional difference in the lives of our patients and their families dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic other than your assigned home clinic. Comfortable floating across 14 clinical locations within the Greater Indianapolis area. You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays - shift times will start as early as 4:00 AM; no overnight scheduling, no Sundays.

Requirements

3+ years of health care experience in a clinical/hospital environment is required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be comfortable working around blood and needles and mixing acid or bicarb.
Must be comfortable working 8-12 hour shifts, 3-4 days per week, flexible in schedule.

Nice To Haves

Dialysis experience is strongly preferred.
Health care experience a plus including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
Educate patient on kidney disease.
Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
Work on a cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership.
Work under the supervision of a RN.
