About The Position

CorrHealth is seeking Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPNs/LVNs) for full-time, permanent positions involving weekly travel to various facilities within Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Wyoming. This role requires flexible availability for both day and night shifts, seven days a week. The LPN will assist in delivering inmate healthcare through the nursing process, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This is not a temporary or contract travel role, but a permanent position requiring a minimum of 36-48 hours weekly.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited LPN/LVN program.
Current and unrestricted compact license as LPN/LVN; must maintain license.
Must be willing to travel weekly.
Must have flexible availability for days and nights, seven days a week.
Must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, and licensing.
Must have current CPR/BLS certification.
Must have current TB test (taken within one year).
Must be willing to follow facility-specific policies and procedures.
Must be willing to assist coworkers and work overtime if required.
Must undergo security training and orientation.
Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves

Compact License required / must reside in a state listed above (CO, NM, TX, WY)

Responsibilities

Assist in the assessment of the physical, psychological, and social dimensions of inmates.
Plan and implement individual treatment programs, including inmate teaching.
Administer medications via approved routes, including IV therapy if certified.
Assist providers with evaluations, medical procedures, and minor surgical procedures.
Obtain body fluid specimens and perform EKGs.
Maintain and document controlled substances and medical equipment.
Intervene in various situations using proper safety techniques and standard precautions.
Implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans.
Perform triaging and assessment of healthcare requests.
Travel weekly to designated CorrHealth facilities in NM, TX, WY, and CO.
Assist coworkers in job duties and work overtime if required.
Maintain confidentiality, dignity, and security of health records in compliance with HIPAA.
