About The Position

Aegis / Pinnacle Treatment Centers is a growing leader in addiction treatment services, providing care across the nation and transforming lives with effective treatment. As a Floater (Licensed Vocational Nurse, Licensed Psychiatric Nurse or Registered Nurse), you are responsible for providing basic medical services to patients in an outpatient recovery environment. This includes maintaining standards of professional nursing practice, ensuring the safe delivery of medication according to company policy, and maintaining thorough documentation of patient records and medical files per state and federal regulations. This role requires travel to clinics in the LA region and offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Active and current California nursing / technician license (includes Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician).
• Current CPR and first aid certification.
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license in good standing in state of employment and be insurable by the designated carrier.
• This role is required to drive for company purposes.
• Experience with triaging in emergency situations.
• Experience assisting with medical emergencies.

• Regional travel up to 75% may be required to provide facility support.

Responsibilities

• Implement all aspects of receiving, storing, and dispensing controlled and non-controlled substances.
• Perform daily reconciliation of controlled substances as required by applicable federal and state regulations.
• Maintain accurate individual patient medication dosage sheets and urinalysis results as required by applicable federal and state regulations.
• Administer medication dosages and evaluate patients for side effects or reactions.
• Document and sign entries in patient treatment records as required by applicable federal and state regulations.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and security at the dispensing window.
• Administer medication to patients who are locally hospitalized as needed.
• Provide appropriate documentation to the Medical Director and/or Clinic Manager as required by applicable federal and state regulations.
• Ensure that forms are completed in their entirety.
• Maintain patient charts and filing.
• Ensure knowledge of, and observe, applicable federal and state regulations.
• Orient new patients to the programs’ policies, rules, and procedures.
• Assist with intakes of new patients.
• Perform venipuncture and collect lab specimens as needed.
• Prepare, stock, and maintain exam rooms and dispensary.
• Complete internal and external reports/documents as required.
• Collect patient fees as needed and record in Cash Fee Collection Log.
• Complete superbill for services provided to each patient.
• Act as liaison with health agencies and the community.
• Appear in court on behalf of patients when necessary.
• Monitor patient flow and crowd control in the clinic and outside areas.
• Oversee the general safety and wellbeing of the patients in the clinic.
• Maintain patient confidentiality as required by applicable federal and state regulations.
• Maintain clinic security procedures.
• Report life-threatening situations concerning teammates, patients, and the immediate community.
• Observe the collection of patients’ urine samples when needed.
• Participate in or conduct case conferences when needed.
• Collect research data as needed.
• Attend team meetings and complete all training courses timely as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
