About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Float Medical Lab Technologist to join its team in Seattle, Washington. The role floats between Swedish Cherry Hill and Ballard and follows a 7-on, 7-off schedule, Thursday through Wednesday, from 9:30 PM to 8:00 AM. The technologist performs laboratory testing and related functions in accordance with departmental procedures, supporting accurate and timely results and quality patient care.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
ASCP or AMT certification.
High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Exceptional customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfort working under minimal supervision.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Determine whether specimens are acceptable for testing according to established criteria.
Float between Swedish Cherry Hill and Ballard.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with specimen processing when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
