Full-time Float Medical Assistant (West Dallas/Fort Worth)
About The Position
Join our clinical staff as an essential Aspire Allergy Medical Assistant and contribute to our mission of curing patients with allergy, asthma, and sinus problems. You'll be administering allergy tests and injections, providing exceptional support during in-office procedures, and assisting with front-office administrative tasks. Help us deliver an extraordinary patient experience from start to finish! Must be willing to travel to any of the following clinics: Fort Worth, Arlington, Keller, Grapevine, Flower Mound, Denton, Coppell. Clinic Schedule & Hours (subject to change): Monday-Thursday 7a-5p, Friday 8a-12p.
Requirements
- Must have basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills
- Must be able to effectively and clearly communicate with others to exchange information effectively
- Must be able to administer subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular injections
- Must be able to manually take patient vital signs
- Must possess the ability to maintain effective working relationship with patients, medical staff and the public
- Must possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in a difficult or emergent situation
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, balance with full range of body motion including handling and lifting up to (20) lbs
- Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer/keyboard at (50) wpm, calculator, telephone, copier and fax
- Requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel between clinics
- Must have a valid driver's license
Nice To Haves
- Completed Medical Assistant Program or Degree
- 1+ Years of Medical Assistant Experience
- 1+ Years of Medical Receptionist Experience
- Medical Assistant Certificate, vocational nurse license or related experience
- Current CPR Certification
Responsibilities
- Escorting patient to exam room; obtaining vitals, past/present medical history, and current medication list
- Effectively communicating allergy testing and treatment protocols to patients
- Administering subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular injections
- Conducting thorough and accurate spirometry testing to assess and evaluate lung function in patients
- Performing all testing and treatment in accordance with Aspire Allergy’s protocols and safety measures
- Navigating EHR system to record accurate patient health information
- Serving patients & visitors by greeting, welcoming and directing them appropriately
- Answering all incoming phone calls and providing accurate information
- Tracking clinical inventory and resupply when needed
- Ensuring all of end of day reports and logs are accurate and complete
- Following all HIPAA rules and regulations including confidentiality of patient information
- Adhering to Aspire Allergy’s protocols and safety measures
- Adhering to OSHA requirements including universal precautions and sharps disposal guidelines
- Adhering to HIPAA guidelines regarding protected health information.
- Cross-train in front office responsibilities to support full-cycle clinic operations.
- Scheduling patient appointments.
- Collecting patient payments.
- Supporting treatment coordination, including enrolling patients in their treatment of choice.
- Obtain CT authorizations.
