About The Position

The Maintenance Assistant assists the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the community’s physical plant and grounds ensuring a safe, attractive and enjoyable living environment for our residents, staff and the public. Main duties include helping all Fort Wayne buildings with painting and other maintenance items.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates C.A.R.E. values (Compassion, Accountability, Relationships, Excellence) to residents, family members, customers, and staff.
  • Prior maintenance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in electrical, heating, and cooling helpful.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Stamina, strength, and endurance to provide maintenance services.
  • Ability to create a comforting and engaging atmosphere for residents.
  • Ability to work towards a common goal of excellent care for residents.
  • Knowledge in electrical, heating and cooling.
