About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking a First Line Flightline Operations Manager (Level K) to join their 787 team within Boeing South Carolina Delivery Center Operations in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves leading and managing a Flightline operations team responsible for ensuring air vehicles are completed and pass certification for airworthiness. Key activities include overseeing final component installation, systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, preflight and postflight checks, release for flight, and preparation for customer delivery. The position emphasizes a mindset of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and teamwork, influencing the team to exhibit Boeing Values and Behaviors.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course 'Exploring Leadership'
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or equivalent military experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading production system and/or process improvements (i.e. Lean, fab production system, improve job practices, techniques and standards)
  • Willingness to work any shift based on needs of the operation
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Possess an A&P or Repairman Certificate or minimum 18 months of practical, hands-on maintenance experience to qualify for an FAA Repairman Certificate in the type of maintenance to be performed
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal or informal role
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with airline customers
  • 3+ years of flight line operations experience & functional test knowledge
  • 3+ years of experience with any of the following: avionics, troubleshooting capabilities, release, ticket experience, manufacturing, and/or structures
  • 3+ years of proficiency using CMES and Velocity software (or similar industry software)
  • 5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
  • Bachelor's degree or higher

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that air vehicles are completed and pass certification for airworthiness
  • Interfaces with flight crews, engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and ensure customer acceptance
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, coaches, leads, develops and motivates employees
