About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Flightline Operations Manager (level K) to support the KC-46 Tanker team in Tukwila, WA! This role ensures that air vehicles are completed by overseeing final component installation, systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, preflight and postflight checks, release for flight, and preparation for delivery. The position involves interfacing with flight crews, engineering, management, and customers. The manager will develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, acquire resources, and lead process improvements. They will also develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports, and provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. This is a first-line leadership position.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends
  • 3+ years of experience in an Aerospace, Fabrication or Manufacturing environment
  • Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • A&P License
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • 3+ years of flight line operations experience
  • 3+ years of aerospace experience with any of the following: quality, avionics, troubleshooting capabilities, functional test knowledge, manufacturing, and/or structures
