About The Position
Astranis is seeking a Flight Software Intern for Summer 2027. This is an hourly role designed for students currently enrolled at a four-year university, typically lasting twelve weeks. Interns at Astranis have the opportunity to work on challenging problems and contribute to meaningful projects, with the potential to design and test hardware/software that will be used on satellites. Many past interns have become full-time employees. This role is for students currently pursuing a degree; those who have already graduated should apply for the Associate Engineer position.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
- Experience with C/C++ and scripting language(s)
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, write, and test software from scratch
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required
Nice To Haves
- Experience with embedded systems running on bare metal
- Experience with real time operating systems
- Experience with FPGA or DSP programming
Responsibilities
- Design, write, and test software, including embedded software for satellites and various ground control and testing software.
