About The Position

Boeing is seeking Software Engineers passionate about space to join their Flight Software Team in El Segundo, CA. This role involves supporting the design, development, and implementation of software for existing and emerging Boeing commercial and government space programs. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience within the software ecosystem, a diverse background of project experience, and exhibit superior judgment and decision-making skills for engineering new solutions and supporting existing capabilities. Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are essential.

Requirements

Ability to obtain a SECRET US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
Ability to obtain Interim-SECRET US Security clearance Pre-Start and Final-SECRET US Security clearance Post-Start.
Bachelors Degree
2+ or more years of experience designing and developing software for a real-time or non-real-time system.
2+ years of experience in software development using languages such as C, C++, Java or Python.
Must work well in a team environment.
Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Active Interim Secret Clearance or higher.
Experience with the full software development lifecycle that includes requirements analysis through Formal Qualification.
Experience using team collaboration tools including GitLab, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence.
Experience in embedded real-time software development.
Experience with Wireshark or other network analysis tools and Debuggers.
Experience automating software builds, unit tests, and integration tests using a DevOps tool chain.

Responsibilities

Support the design, integration, modification, test, and debugging of software for embedded devices and systems, meeting industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards.
Review, analyze, and translate customer requirements for software products.
Build and write code for embedded systems software.
Integrate embedded software with hardware components.
Analyze, monitor, and improve the efficiency and stability of embedded software systems.
Participate in testing and debugging software for embedded devices and systems.
Responsible for satellite and payload software safety, assurance, quality, and engineering excellence.
Assist in producing design and test documentation and artifacts.
Assist in conducting Cyber Vulnerability Analysis (CVA) for multiple processing platforms.
Assist in designing and implementing cyber monitoring algorithms.
Assist in designing and writing custom tools to support configuration automation and improve development workflow.
Work and interface with a technically diverse user community and a multi-disciplined integrated product team (systems and software).
Lead the design, integration, modification, test, and debugging of software.
Lead review, analyses, and translation of customer requirements.
Review code for embedded systems software.
Lead integration of embedded software with hardware components.
Lead analyses, monitoring and improvement of the efficiency and stability of embedded software systems.
Lead testing and debugging of software for embedded devices and systems.
Advise on software and hardware integration domains.
Lead tracking and evaluation of internal and supplier software team performance.
Lead software project management functions.
Produce and deliver design and test documentation and artifacts including program CDRLs.
Interface with product stakeholders including software and hardware development teams, Systems Engineering, Product Security Engineering, and Testbed Engineering.
