Hermeus is a venture-backed defense aviation company focused on rapid iterative prototyping to build the fastest aircraft in the world. The company aims to deliver high-speed systems at the pace of the modern battlefield and provide high-speed capabilities to the U.S. nation and its allies. The Command & Control team is responsible for the design, development, integration, testing, and delivery of software for Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Pilot Vehicle Interfaces (PVI), Command & Control (C2), telemetry, and vehicle communications. This specific role will concentrate on embedded flight software and networking that facilitate communication between aircraft and ground control systems. The engineer will develop software for command and control, telemetry, network management, RF communications, and vehicle data links, collaborating with avionics, RF, flight software, and ground systems engineers. This is not a voice communications role, but rather focuses on the software and network infrastructure for reliable exchange of commands, telemetry, and mission-critical data between air vehicles and ground control stations. The ideal candidate should be proficient in embedded C/C++ development, network and communications system design, and hands-on testing with target hardware, with ownership across both vehicle and ground sides of the communications network from architecture through flight operations.
