About The Position

Cimarron is seeking a Flight Software Developer (Guidance, Navigation, Controls, and Propulsion) to help support the Orion MPCV Spacecraft docking GNCP RPOD software development, validation and verification. This position is located in Denver, CO but can also be supported remotely. Work with a team of NASA and Lockheed GNCP (Guidance, Navigation, Controls, and Propulsion) engineers and software developers to verify the flight code for the Orion space craft. You will take responsibility of flight requirements verification through final run for record. Contribute on a highly motivated, collaborative, and dedicated flight software (FSW) team who specifically support the Artemis mission. Incorporate lessons learned from prior Orion missions to adopt new efficiencies that can be leveraged for Artemis FSW development & processes.

Requirements

  • This position requires access to federal facilities.
  • Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Previous software verification experience.
  • Must have leadership ability.
  • High Level of Python experience (SWTE specifically).
  • Knowledgeable with Linux.
  • Knowledgeable with Matlab.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, aerospace, or related equivalent engineering degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Orion and/or Orion software verification experience.
  • Previous Flight Software or Simulation Software Experience.
  • GNCP (Guidance, Navigation, Controls, and Propulsion) knowledge.
  • Experience with C++.
  • Experience with Doors.

Responsibilities

  • Review and understand requirements and their parts success criteria.
  • Create test cases/test scripts in Python to fully verify success criteria.
  • Follow a process of developing Python based testing through a final qualification review.
  • Review existing GNCP verification tests in regression; identify any failings, understand the issues, and implement corrections.
  • Run both software and hardware test beds.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, outside mode teams, developers, and principal engineers.
