About The Position

We are seeking a Training System Simulator Technician (Field Engineer) for the F-35 program, supporting NAS Lemoore. The successful candidate will be responsible for the sustainment, maintenance, and operation of F-35 training devices. This role involves installing components, performing preventive maintenance, updating maintenance records, and assisting with equipment modifications and software installations. You will apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems using design drawings, manuals, and simulator documents, and isolate/report malfunctions. The position also requires maintaining simulation devices to meet availability specifications, documenting cabling schemes, and establishing maintenance programs. The technician will collaborate with the Lockheed Martin training team to achieve F-35 training objectives, implement company initiatives, and comply with site security and access control procedures, including sanitizing classified media. The role may require flexible work schedules, travel, and interaction with diverse personnel across multiple functional areas.

Requirements

Final Transferable Secret security clearance, with the last Periodic Reinvestigation within the last six years.
Ability to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
Knowledge and experience with simulation hardware and software.
Ability to read and use technical schematics, drawings, and manuals along with other technical materials to resolve complex problems.
Willingness to support flexible work hours to align with customer operational schedule.
Must have a current Security+ certificate or be able to acquire one within 3 months of hire date.
Must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree
2 years experience with aviation simulation systems.
Proven hardware and software support experience in a training/modeling and simulation environment.
Network troubleshooting and maintenance experience.
Experience working in classified/access controlled facilities.
Ability to brief/teach technical information to internal and external audiences.
Ability to lead and mentor other team members.
Currently possess a current Security + certificate.
Strong oral/written communication skills.
3-5 years experience maintaining and troubleshooting Training and Simulation equipment.

Responsibilities

Install components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, and customer facilities.
Perform, conduct, and document preventive maintenance checks for devices and associated subsystems.
Update maintenance data collection records.
Assist with the installation and check-out of modifications to equipment.
Maintain simulation devices to meet availability specifications.
Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting design drawings, manuals, or simulator documents.
Assist with installations, testing, and maintenance of F-35 software packages.
Isolate and report malfunctions and discrepancies to the lowest definable levels.
Document and maintain cabling schemes and drawings.
Establish and perform maintenance programs following company and vendor standards.
Work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin training team on site to fulfill F-35 training objectives.
Implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs, and policies as directed.
Comply with site security and access control procedures in accordance with F-35 program and customer procedures.
Sanitize all classified media (circuit cards, disk storage devices, etc.) to the LRU in accordance with established F-35 and customer procedures.
