About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking Flight Simulation Software Engineers (Associate, Experienced, and Senior) to join the Flight Simulation Labs team in Berkeley, MO. This position will support the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization by developing software for tools that support simulation infrastructure across Flight Simulation Labs. Selected candidates will be aligned to a statement of work that best suits their interests and skillset, which could include creating core simulation infrastructure, developing tools to simulate, monitor, and capture messages between subsystems, or modeling aircraft capabilities for testing constructive scenarios. Air Dominance software engineers design, develop, and demonstrate avionics solutions for platforms, integrating innovative technologies and supporting Flight Simulation products associated with these platforms. The teams are hiring for Associate, Experienced, and Senior Level Software Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start)
  • 2+ years of experience programming in C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada (or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience)
  • 2 + years’ experience as a Software Engineer

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the defense or avionics industry
  • Knowledge of basic networking principles
  • Experience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple concurrent activities
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, documents and maintains architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
  • Supports development of simulation environments to support testing performed by Mission Systems engineers
  • Works on an agile team in order to accomplish team goals
  • Executes and documents software research and development projects
  • Works under general direction
