About The Position

The Mobile ICU Nurse provides advanced critical care and emergency nursing services during the interfacility transport of critically ill and injured patients. Working as part of a specialized Critical Care Transport team, the nurse assesses, stabilizes, monitors, and manages patients requiring intensive care while ensuring safe transport via ground ambulance. The Mobile ICU Nurse collaborates closely with other members of the transport team and receiving facility staff to deliver evidence-based critical care throughout all phases of transport. Typical Patient Population: Adult, pediatric, trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory failure, sepsis, ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), ventricular assist device (VAD), and other high-acuity critical care patients. Air Care & Mobile Care has provided the Greater Cincinnati area with specialized medical transport services for patients in our community for almost 40 years. Air Care & Mobile Care is the only service in the region to be accredited in four levels of medical transport by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems. Air Care & Mobile Care specializes in caring for and transporting critically injured and sick patients, wherever they may be, by bringing the world-class care of UC Medical Center to the patient.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Advanced critical care and emergency nursing skills
  • Experience in interfacility transport of critically ill and injured patients
  • Ability to work as part of a specialized Critical Care Transport team
  • Proficiency in assessing, stabilizing, monitoring, and managing high-acuity critical care patients
  • Familiarity with typical patient populations including adult, pediatric, trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory failure, sepsis, ECMO, IABP, and VAD patients.
