The Flight Paramedic is responsible for providing medical care and rapid transport to critically ill or injured patients within the air medical environment. This role involves learning and maintaining competency in advanced skills pertinent to flight paramedic practice, adhering to flight program protocols, and demonstrating the ability to provide care and treatment based on department protocols and industry standards. The paramedic operates in an elevated risk environment (helicopters) and is expected to collaborate with aviation staff (pilots and mechanics) and the Cox Air Care Medical Director (physician) to reduce risk and promote safe practices.
