About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking Flight Operation Mechanics to join our Production Test team in Berkeley, MO. This position will be supporting all major Air Dominance programs in the St. Louis area. The position specifically involves production test support for Boeing Defense Systems (BDS) fighter programs. The Production Test team delivers and supports special test equipment, processes, and software for build verification of electrical/airframe/avionics/optical subsystems to ensure product quality and safe operation. Build verification is ensuring Boeing products are manufactured per engineering design to meet intended functional requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience with any of the following aircraft operations: flight line maintenance, manufacturing or assembly
  • Experience in using electronic test equipment
  • Experience in Electrical Assembly
  • Experience in maintenance of avionics and/or electronic equipment
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • Ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in any of the following fields: machine tool maintenance, industrial electronic and/or electrical maintenance field, or military electronic/electrical system maintenance
  • Experience in Electrical and/or Avionics Mechanic experience working with various electrical components for military aircraft
  • Experience in building wire harnesses
  • Experience in using a wide variety of fiber optics (F/O) test tools, as well as writing basic F/O test plans, procedures and reports

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and/or perform bench checkout and troubleshooting, adjustment and repair of electrical and electronic assemblies
  • Inspect the calibration, adjustment, troubleshooting, repair and modification of electronic test equipment used exclusively by production and at times may be required to inspect the calibration, adjustment, troubleshooting, repair and modification of other electronic test equipment as directed
  • Fabricate, adjust, troubleshoot, repair and modify electronic test equipment
  • Splice, route, clamp, solder, and string tie wires or wire bundles
  • Perform complex assembly operations on electronic/electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies in accordance with design specifications
  • Fabricate, assemble, modify, repair, test, and provide shop support for production electrical/electronic special test equipment and wire harnesses
  • Follow schematics, drawings, and work instructions to set up and perform tasks
  • Install wire harnesses and components in panels and other assemblies
  • Identify nonconforming detail parts, assemblies, and processes and determine rework required to repair
  • Test and troubleshoot complex wire harnesses, panels, and aircraft electrical systems for continuity and proper functioning
  • Assemble and deliver special test equipment
  • Identify electronic/electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies for production inefficiencies and complete problem resolution and process improvements for complex matters
  • Document work completed and inspection results in accordance with applicable requirements
  • Contribute to efforts to improve safety, quality, and delivery
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and industrial engineers
