About The Position
Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) Customer Support is hiring Flight Operations Engineer (Associate or Mid Level) to join the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) team in Seal Beach, CA. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level Flight Operations Engineers. This role involves developing, maintaining, and obtaining regulatory agency approval for Airplane Flight Manual data essential for the safe and efficient operation of Boeing airplanes. The engineer will investigate and analyze engineering databases, documents, specifications, and change papers to determine customer airplane configurations. Using basic aerodynamic knowledge, along with an understanding of certification requirements and customer expectations, the engineer will prepare Airplane Flight Manuals using web-based document authoring applications. Additionally, the role includes coordinating the review of the AFM with Engineering Unit Members and regulatory agency personnel to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and supporting the development of new and existing technologies, tools, and processes to enhance technology readiness and reduce cycle time and cost of authoring.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
- 2 or more years' related work experience
Nice To Haves
- 5 or more years' related work experience
- Experience working with the FAA and foreign regulatory agencies
- Knowledge of aerodynamics, airplane performance, flight test, and certification
- Experience in developing regulatory manuals and technical service documentation
Responsibilities
- Develops, maintains and obtains regulatory agency approval for Airplane Flight Manual data necessary for the safe and efficient operation of Boeing airplanes
