About The Position

OCH Technologies is seeking a Flight Manager Trainer to support a government program at Scott Air Force Base. The Flight Manager Trainer shall provide an integrated, comprehensive, responsive and all-inclusive FM training program to support 618th AOC FMs. They will also coordinate and monitor the delivery of FAA Course Curriculum/Schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or arts
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience supporting military aviation operations, training, or command and control environments
  • Extensive knowledge of Flight Manager (FM) applications, systems, procedures, and operational processes, with demonstrated hands-on experience
  • Previous experience serving as a Flight Manager Instructor, delivering classroom and/or operational training to military personnel
  • Former Rated Instructor (K- or T-coded) with a strong understanding of military airlift and aerial refueling operations
  • Experience supporting operations within the 618th Air Operations Center (AOC) Command and Control (C2) environment
  • Working knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles and methodologies for the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, revise, and maintain training materials and courseware to support evolving mission requirements and operational objectives
  • Ability to meet and maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with AFMAN 11-255, including full operational qualification, formal instructor designation, and the demonstrated capability to train, evaluate, and certify personnel in compliance with AMC C2 training standards
  • Candidate must possess an active Secret level security clearance
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies to develop, deliver, and continuously improve training programs and course materials.
  • Deliver Initial Mission Qualification Training (MQT), continuation/recurrent training, and Just-in-Time (JIT) training in accordance with contract and mission requirements.
  • Evaluate trainee performance through written, practical, and performance-based assessments; provide remediation as needed and validate achievement of training objectives.
  • Administer and instruct up to two Flight Manager (FM) Initial Mission Qualification Training (MQT) courses annually, supporting up to 10 students per class and 20 students per year.
  • Develop, update, maintain, document, and deliver classroom-based FM training materials, including lesson plans, presentations, handouts, and instructional aids, for Mobility Air Forces (MAF) aircraft and other assigned airframes.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver Training and Air Mobility Command Center (TACC) weapon systems training focused on Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) systems utilized by Flight Managers.
  • Utilize and provide instruction on GDSS 2, MAFPS, Interactive Mission Record (IMR), Aircrew Departure Planning (ADP), mission tracking systems, weather applications, and other supporting operational software and follow-on systems.
  • Train and coordinate instruction on new FM capabilities, operational requirements, hardware, software, and courseware updates, ensuring personnel remain current on system enhancements and mission requirements.
  • Provide instruction on weapon system hardware, architecture, and network integration to enable Flight Managers to accurately identify, troubleshoot, and document system discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders, contractors, and training providers to ensure all weapon system training requirements and capabilities are effectively supported.
  • Maintain Electronic Training Folders (ETFs) and training records, including training hours, evaluations, certifications, and qualification documentation, and submit required reports to the COR.
  • Support student in-processing, training scheduling, and coordination activities to ensure continuity and efficiency throughout the training pipeline.
  • Maintain proficiency in mission planning systems, operational procedures, and emerging capabilities to ensure training reflects current mission requirements and best practices.
  • Incorporate real-world mission planning scenarios and operational exercises into training to enhance decision-making, mission readiness, and practical application of skills.
  • Develop, administer, and maintain FM-specific upgrade training programs for Evaluators, Instructors, Quality Check personnel, Air Traffic Management Coordinators, and other MAJCOM-approved specialty training requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Air Force, MAJCOM, operational, and contractual training standards, policies, and requirements.
  • Review and update training curricula, lesson plans, and course materials to reflect changes in airspace, flight safety guidance, aircraft procedures, AFMANs, AFIs, MAJCOM directives, FCIFs, Read Files, and operating instructions.
  • Provide training support across all operational shifts and deliver Just-in-Time instruction as required to meet mission demands.
  • Augment training and operational support activities as needed to ensure continuous training coverage and mission readiness.
  • Responsibilities may evolve over time to support team and organizational goals, but will remain consistent with the overall scope of the role.
