Flight Dynamics Engineer (Senior)
About The Position
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space Missions Systems seeks a Flight Dynamics Engineer (Senior) in Seal Beach, California, with potential options to work from El Segundo, California; Aurora or Colorado Springs, Colorado; Herndon or Leesburg, Virginia; or Kennedy Space Center, Florida, based on program needs. You will join a diverse team and apply your skills to support architecture, requirements, and design, creating innovative solutions to technical challenges. Our multi-disciplinary team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of next-generation, mission-focused technologies, products, and services for a variety of customers. We work all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, architecture, requirements, and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Level 4: Typically, 9 or more years' related work experience
- Background in astrodynamics and/or guidance, navigation, and control
- Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
- Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Nice To Haves
- Level 5: Typically, 14 or more years' related work experience
- 5+ years experience with orbital analysis software or tools
- Experience in Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and advanced system engineering toolsets
- Experience in space systems and working with multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience with software requirements verification testing
- Experience with scripting languages (i.e. Python, Tcl/Tk)
- Experience with Configuration Management tools and processes
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework processes and tools
- Excellent written and spoken communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong communication skills and desire to integrate within a team that works under the principles of respect, trust, open-mindedness and fun.
- Passion for innovation and creative exploration of new technologies.
