About The Position

The Flexographic Press Operator is responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels by use of narrow-web flexographic press, while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions. Additionally, the Press Operator meets safety, housekeeping, quality, waste, and productivity standards. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years flexographic printing press operator experience, with intermediate knowledge of dies, anilox, plates, and cylinders.
  • Near vision

  • Finger dexterity
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime/Saturdays once fully trained.

Nice To Haves

  • Narrow-web, specifically Mark Andy 2200, P5, or P7 Series.
  • If someone has the right experience operating intermediate to advanced machinery and has a track record of sustained superior performance, there may be an opportunity for hire.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all OSHA, FSSC, GMP, and company safety standards.
  • Change material, plates, dies, substrates, anilox rollers, cylinders, or ink as required.
  • Inspect print quality for proper ink coverage and density, alignment, registration, tension, and die cut per customer job ticket requirements.
  • Perform basic maintenance using hand tools as needed.
  • Annotate material quantities used, quality discrepancies, downtime, make-ready time, and run time in DCU.
  • Clean press machine components as needed.
  • Maintain clean workspace according to housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement events as needed.
  • Train new teammates as needed, upon being fully qualified.
