About The Position

Abbott Label, a family-owned label manufacturing company with plants in Texas, Arizona, Georgia, and Illinois, has an immediate opening for a Flexo Press Machine Operator in its fast-paced Itasca plant. This role is responsible for producing printed objects and materials using assigned printing machinery, ensuring Flexo Presses are staged with materials and tooling for efficient workflow, and running presses to complete jobs efficiently. The operator will also assist with Quality Control in the pressroom and perform other duties as directed by their supervisor, which may include operating other machines or assisting with maintenance needs.

Requirements

• Ability to operate or to quickly learn to operate various printing machines.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent Mechanical Skills
• Punctual and Reliable.
• Experience with Mark Andy Printing equipment – A MUST.
• Physically able to operate printing machines.
• Able to bend, twist, and kneel.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Narrow Web Printing Industry preferred.
• Vocational/technical school training preferred; on-the-job training provided.
• Previous related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates various types of printing machines.
• Reviews client requests to understand scope and parameters of print jobs.
• Determines quantities required for print job.
• Aligns and configures machinery.
• Inspects random production samples to evaluate quality of printings.
• Troubleshoots issues with printing machine and makes basic repairs.
• Performs routine maintenance on printing machines.
• Drafts and submits reports for daily production totals.
• Maintains a clean area around printing machinery.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
