About The Position
La Mere Academy is a high-quality early childhood education center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. We are seeking a dependable, adaptable, and team-oriented Flexible Support Team Member (Floater) to assist throughout the school wherever support is needed. The Flexible Support Team Member (Floater) plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the school. This position works with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and Pre-K students, assisting teachers, covering breaks, supporting classroom activities, and helping maintain a safe and positive learning environment. The ideal candidate enjoys variety, works well with all age groups, and is committed to delivering exceptional care and support to children and staff.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience working with children in a daycare, childcare, preschool, private school, or early childhood education setting.
- Ability to work with children of varying ages and developmental stages.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to adapt to changing daily needs.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day.
Nice To Haves
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Experience in multiple age-group classrooms.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom support across all age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschool, and Pre-K.
- Assist lead and assistant teachers with daily classroom activities and routines.
- Cover teacher breaks, planning time, and staff absences as needed.
- Supervise children while ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement.
- Support learning activities, circle time, outdoor play, meals, and transitions throughout the day.
- Assist with diapering, potty training, handwashing, feeding, and other personal care needs.
- Help prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and educational activities.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe classrooms and common areas.
- Follow all childcare licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and center policies.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Support special events, school-wide activities, and enrichment programs.
- Step into different classrooms confidently and maintain continuity of care and instruction.
