About The Position

The Flex Surgical Equipment Technician I uses technical and mechanical skills to repair surgical medical equipment and instruments within an assigned modality. The role involves inspecting, evaluating, testing, disassembling, assembling, and repairing equipment, including removing or replacing defective parts. The technician documents services, testing, and parts used, maintains the work area to Visual Work Place standards, and handles timecard and time-off entry, review, and submission. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.

The position is based at Agiliti’s Roanoke, Texas lab and is listed as a Monday–Friday day-shift role. Schedule flexibility may be needed to meet department needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of experience with repairs.
• Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, and stoop often.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to use computer devices and systems as needed.
• Ability to use grinding wheels, soldering irons, sand blasters, Dremel-style tools, torches, microscopes, small precision hand tools, magnification tools, tweezers, micro screwdrivers, digital calipers, and test equipment requiring hand-eye coordination.
• Flexibility in work schedule to meet department needs.
• Ability to handle and assemble small parts.
• Ability to repair identified basic equipment models and maintain modality and department standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, evaluate, and test equipment.
• Disassemble and assemble equipment and instruments and repair them as needed, including removing or replacing defective parts.
• Document all services and testing performed, including all parts needed.
• Maintain the work area in good condition and meet Visual Work Place (VWP) standards.
• Handle timecard and time-off entry, review, and submission.
• Perform other tasks as assigned or needed.
