About The Position

Hammer Head Security is seeking dependable, professional, and highly adaptable Flex Security Officers to join our growing team. This position is designed to provide coverage for employee call-offs, vacations, special assignments, and staffing shortages at various client locations throughout Oakland, San Jose, Milpitas, Fremont, and surrounding Bay Area communities. Flex Officers are assigned to different sites based on operational needs and may work in warehouse facilities, logistics yards, residential communities, commercial properties, and corporate environments. Comprehensive site-specific training is provided for all assignments. The ideal candidate is reliable, customer-service oriented, flexible with scheduling, and comfortable adapting to different work environments and security responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Valid California Guard Card (Required)
  • Valid California Driver's License (Required)
  • Clean and insurable driving record
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various Bay Area locations
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous security, customer service, warehouse security, gate officer, patrol, or CCTV monitoring experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to conduct foot patrols and vehicle patrols throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb stairs and navigate large properties when required.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Provide security coverage at multiple client locations throughout the Bay Area.
  • Cover open shifts due to employee absences, vacations, and operational staffing needs.
  • Conduct foot patrols and vehicle patrols of assigned properties.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras and surveillance systems.
  • Perform access control duties for employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and delivery personnel.
  • Operate security gates and monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
  • Conduct inspections of buildings, parking areas, warehouses, and logistics yards.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, policy violations, and security concerns.
  • Complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs), incident reports, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain communication with Dispatch, supervisors, and site representatives.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established site procedures.
  • Provide professional customer service while maintaining a visible security presence.
