The Resource Registered Nurse position for Illinois' Resource Team requires floating to the facilities in one of the following zones: Zone 4: Condell, Good Shepherd, Sherman, Lutheran/ACH Park Ridge & Masonic Zone 5: Good Samaritan, Christ/ACH Oak Lawn, Trinity, South Suburban & Masonic. This role engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care. They monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team to influence care outcomes. Upholding a culture of safety is paramount, with continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes. Responsibilities may include administering medications, treatments, and therapies safely, demonstrating effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, and fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The role also involves pursuing professional development, completing required education, and maintaining certifications, while adhering to ethical decision-making and respecting interdisciplinary roles. Appropriate delegation to other healthcare professionals is expected, along with maintaining accurate, timely EHR documentation. This position may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development over the life span and assessing data reflective of patient status to meet age-specific needs.
