About The Position

This is a Part Time Flex Officer position in Savannah, GA. The role involves performing various security duties to ensure the safety and security of industrial plants, commercial establishments, and other work sites. Flex Officers are trained to work multiple posts to cover for absences and are supervised by Branch/Account Managers, Post Supervisors, and Field Supervisors. Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
State Security Officer License (where applicable).
Certification in the use of weapons, State Armed License if required.
Valid Driver's License, if in driving position.
CPR/AED/First Aid Certification may be needed.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear regularly.
Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel frequently.
Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see and distinguish basic colors.

Responsibilities

Patrol buildings and grounds of industrial plants or commercial establishments, docks, logging camp areas, or work sites.
Patrol lobbies, corridors, and public rooms, confer with management, interview guests and employees, and interrogate persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalisms, and accidents.
Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
Examine doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
Perform and set thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperature in buildings or cold storage rooms.
Register at watch stations to record time of inspection trips.
Inspect assigned areas and record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment.
Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Notify staff of presence of persons with questionable reputations.
Permit authorized persons and regulate vehicle/pedestrian traffic at plant entrances to maintain orderly flow.
Drive radio-equipped cars to check alarms and locate sources of alarms.
Sound alarms or call police or fire departments by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
Assist management and enforcement officers in emergency situations.
Apprehend unauthorized persons found on property, using armed force if necessary, and release them to the custody of authorities.
Contact supervisor by radio or telephone to report irregularities and obtain further instructions.
Write investigation and automobile usage reports.
Be trained and qualified to work multiple posts, in case of call-offs or vacations.
