About The Position

Hy-Tech Drilling is seeking a Fleet Yardperson to join their growing team. The Fleet Yardperson will be responsible for the efficient mobilization of work vehicles and rolling stock to meet operational needs, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with Hy-Tech procedures and safe work practices. This role requires an ambitious, well-rounded individual to carry out key responsibilities related to fleet maintenance, organization, and preparation.

  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and provide a current drivers abstract annually.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a warehouse or yard position is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools, and experience using drill press, cutting torches, and welder considered an asset.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic fleet maintenance, including shocks, mudflaps, tire changes, and occasional fabrication of parts.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of all mobile equipment types, their operation, and required PPE.
  • Shuttle vehicles to and from repair facilities and retrieve parts as required.
  • Install and wire aftermarket accessories (bumpers, lights, headache racks, etc.).
  • Paint bush boxes, vehicle frames, and other add on equipment to meet Hy-Tech standards.
  • Install GPS units into rolling stock, when required.
  • Prepare units for disposal including thorough cleaning and removal of decals, bush boxes, and accessories.
  • Organize and ensure proper utilization of storage spaces including parts seacan, tire racks, and fleet yard.
  • Wash and detail fleet using the wash pad to ensure containment of contaminated material.
  • Perform routine inspections ensuring fluid levels are topped up (i.e., fuel, DEF fluid, etc.) and all certifications (i.e., fire extinguisher) are up to date.
  • Understand and adhere to TDG, WHMIS, and transportation regulations within different regions.
