About The Position

The Fleet, Warehouse & Prefab Manager is responsible for overseeing Roman Electric’s company vehicles, equipment, warehouse operations, tool management, building support, and electrical prefab coordination. This position plays a key role in keeping field operations organized, properly equipped, and supported. This role works closely with operations leadership, project managers, field supervisors, warehouse staff, vendors, and employees to ensure vehicles, tools, equipment, materials, and prefab work are properly maintained, tracked, scheduled, and available when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Experience managing company vehicles, fuel cards, GPS, vehicle repairs, registrations, and fleet documentation.
  • Experience coordinating warehouse operations, tool tracking, and equipment maintenance.
  • Experience supporting electrical prefab or construction prefab operations.
  • Experience working with electricians, foremen, project managers, service technicians, or construction field teams.
  • Familiarity with lifts, trailers, power tools, electrical materials, warehouse storage, and jobsite equipment.
  • Familiarity with DOT inspections, insurance claims, and fleet compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in fleet management, warehouse management, construction operations, field support, facilities coordination, or a related role preferred.
  • Experience in electrical construction, commercial construction, service, warehouse, prefab, or field operations strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, vendors, employees, vehicles, tools, and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with employees, field leaders, vendors, repair shops, and company leadership.
  • Comfortable using computer systems, spreadsheets, GPS platforms, vendor portals, and internal tracking systems.
  • Ability to problem-solve and respond quickly to urgent vehicle, equipment, tool, facility, or field support needs.
  • Basic understanding of vehicles, tools, equipment, warehouse operations, and construction jobsite needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage company vehicle assignments and maintain accurate fleet records.
  • Coordinate management of company-owned and leased vehicles, including vehicles managed through third-party fleet providers.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance, repairs, towing, accident repairs, and service appointments.
  • Oversee purchasing, replacement, and disposal of company vehicles.
  • Coordinate vehicle outfitting, including shelving, racks, graphics, safety equipment, and field-use setup.
  • Monitor and coordinate vehicle registrations, renewals, insurance cards, and related documentation.
  • Manage fuel cards, fuel PIN numbers, card orders, cancellations, and fuel usage.
  • Monitor GPS for company vehicles and follow up on concerns or employee questions as needed.
  • Monitor DOT inspections and compliance requirements for larger vehicles.
  • Coordinate movement, use, and maintenance of company-owned lifts, trailers, and other major equipment.
  • Assist with insurance claims related to vehicle accidents, property damage, and fleet-related incidents.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations to ensure tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are organized, accessible, and properly maintained.
  • Maintain an orderly, safe, and efficient warehouse layout.
  • Coordinate receiving, staging, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment for field operations.
  • Work with field leaders and project teams to ensure warehouse support aligns with project needs and schedules.
  • Monitor warehouse inventory levels for commonly used materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Support organization of returned materials, unused materials, and project closeout items.
  • Ensure warehouse areas are kept clean, safe, and compliant with company expectations.
  • Assist with improving warehouse processes, labeling, organization, storage systems, and accountability.
  • Oversee and coordinate electrical prefab activities to support commercial field operations.
  • Work with project managers, foremen, and field leadership to identify prefab opportunities that improve productivity, consistency, and jobsite efficiency.
  • Coordinate prefab schedules, priorities, materials, and labor needs.
  • Ensure prefab work is completed accurately, safely, and according to project specifications and company standards.
  • Track prefab work being completed and communicate status updates to project and field leadership.
  • Help establish and improve prefab standards, templates, storage methods, and workflow.
  • Coordinate movement of completed prefab assemblies to jobsites.
  • Support quality control of prefab assemblies before delivery to the field.
  • Manage company tools and equipment, including assignment, tracking, maintenance, repair, and replacement.
  • Maintain accurate records of tool and equipment assignments to employees, crews, jobsites, and departments.
  • Coordinate tool repairs, calibration, inspections, and replacement as needed.
  • Monitor tool availability and work with field leadership to address shortages or recurring issues.
  • Support check-in/check-out procedures for tools and equipment.
  • Help maintain accountability for lost, damaged, or unreturned tools.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are stored safely and properly when not in use.
  • Assist in evaluating tool needs for crews, projects, warehouse, prefab, and service operations.
  • Oversee building maintenance needs for company facilities, including West Allis and New Berlin locations.
  • Coordinate vendors for building repairs, maintenance, inspections, cleaning, supplies, and service needs.
  • Respond to facility-related issues and coordinate timely repairs or solutions.
  • Manage office printers, printer supplies, and service coordination.
  • Support building organization, safety, and general functionality.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors, repair shops, equipment companies, fleet providers, uniform providers, fuel card providers, and building service vendors.
  • Monitor and support the commercial uniform program.
  • Coordinate vendor appointments, service needs, repairs, pickups, deliveries, and follow-up.
  • Communicate with employees, managers, and vendors to resolve issues quickly and professionally.
  • Maintain organized records for vehicles, tools, equipment, warehouse inventory, prefab activity, facility maintenance, fuel cards, registrations, DOT inspections, GPS, and vendor programs.
  • Use company systems to track fleet, equipment, inventory, assignments, maintenance, and related operational information.
  • Provide updates to leadership on fleet status, warehouse needs, tool issues, prefab priorities, equipment concerns, and upcoming maintenance or compliance deadlines.
  • Support process improvements related to fleet, warehouse, tool tracking, prefab, facilities, and operational efficiency.
