About The Position

EquipmentShare is hiring a Fleet Technician at our rental facility in Dallas, TX. Fleet Technicians are responsible for helping the rental facility keep their storage yard in top shape by helping with maintenance and every day tasks of a rental facility. This role is crucial in ensuring that fleet vehicles and equipment are clean and safe to operate, and involves repairing and maintaining a fleet of gas, diesel, and EV vehicles including automobiles, passenger vans, and light and heavy duty trucks. The position also includes performing routine and scheduled vehicle inspections and maintenance, detecting and troubleshooting engine, electrical, mechanical, transmission, and auxiliary equipment issues, and managing the receiving, transportation, organization, and storage of fleet vehicles. Additionally, the role involves documenting maintenance reports and work orders, monitoring and stocking parts and supplies, and assisting with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe branch. The Fleet Technician will also serve as an advocate for EquipmentShare’s culture and uphold high standards of customer experience, and assist with various other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Safety training required and PPE required when applicable
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude and the flexibility to adapt and pivot as business needs change.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least be one year of experience in maintenance and repair
  • Must be able to be outside during extreme temperatures
  • Must be able to stand, sit, bend and stoop
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be at least 18 years old to be in EquipmentShare yard

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that fleet vehicles and equipment are clean and safe to operate.
  • Repairs and maintains a fleet of gas, diesel, and EV vehicles including automobiles, passenger vans, and light and heavy duty trucks.
  • Performs routine and scheduled vehicle inspections and maintenance such as body repair, oil changes, coolant levels, refueling, tire rotations, and hydraulic and brake systems.
  • Detects and troubleshoots engine, electrical, mechanical, transmission, and auxiliary equipment issues to make a vehicle operational.
  • Receives, transports, organizes, and stores fleet vehicles.
  • Documents and keep vehicle maintenance reports and work orders.
  • Monitors and stocks the parts and supplies needed for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe branch, including keeping work areas and bays clean, returning tools and equipment to their proper locations, and following all safety procedures.
  • Serve as an advocate for EquipmentShare’s culture and uphold our high standards of customer experience
  • Assist with various other duties as assigned by the General Manager
