Requirements

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
  • 4 years’ experience in mechanical inspections and repairs in a related field
  • Must have valid Class B Driver’s License
  • Ability to understand and adhere to Company Policies in all areas.
  • Ability to follow all written and oral instructions
  • Attention to Detail, Dependability, Verbal Communication, Documentation Skills, Inventory Control
  • Ability to always implement and work in a strong safety environment.
  • Ability to work alone with little or no direction at times.
  • Advanced knowledge and full understanding of Heavy-Duty Electrical systems utilizing the proper Diagnostic Tools
  • Able to identify the root cause of failures / conditions on all systems and components along with performing the repairs as required.
  • Must be CFC 609 Certified
  • Basic welding skills

  • Post-Secondary vocational education strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose minor mechanical and electrical problems working in accordance with all standard repair practices along with Federal and State compliance guidelines.
  • Road test vehicles to ensure the quality and effectiveness of repairs performed along with identifying potential concerns and will exercise judgement and discretion in resolving issues or making repairs.
  • Perform all other duties / skills in lesser classifications.
  • Determine vehicle condition by conducting Preventive Maintenance Inspections, oil changes, chassis lubrication while identifying worn and damaged parts, installing component and part upgrades on light, medium, and heavy-duty tractors and other equipment.
  • Perform inspections at customers location with a service truck which could include inclement weather at times.
  • Maintain the service truck to standard including cleanliness and resupply.
  • Perform service calls dispatching to provide diagnosis and repairs related to vehicle breakdowns.
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies identified by repairing, replacing, adjusting, disassembling and assembling, components in all major equipment system areas.
  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
  • Perform tire replacements, rotations, mounting and dismounting on and off of vehicles as needed.
  • Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Contain costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
