About The Position

We are presently seeking to fill 2 Fleet Technician A (C Vacancy) positions at our Albany location, with a minimum starting pay rate of $37.81. Under direct supervision to perform ordinary types of repairs and maintenance work on equipment, such as adjusting and relining brakes, grinding valve seats, refacing and adjusting valves; and to assist Fleet Technicians of a higher grade.

Requirements

Complete set of professional grade automotive repair tools.
Basic computer knowledge.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Mechanics is required (heavy duty experience (trucks) and/or light duty).
Ability to work without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

New York State Inspection License (heavy duty, light duty and emissions).
Class A CDL License.
A minimum of five (5) valid ASE certifications, including but not limited to T-1, T-2, T-4, T-5, T-8 or Equivalent

Responsibilities

Perform ordinary types of repairs and maintenance work on equipment, such as adjusting and relining brakes, grinding valve seats, refacing and adjusting valves.
Assist Fleet Technicians of a higher grade.
