About The Position

Under limited supervision, performs general labor work in a fleet equipment maintenance setting. This role involves receiving, storing, and delivering parts and supplies, maintaining cleanliness of vehicles and facilities, and performing various labor tasks. The position is non-exempt and part of a union. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Good verbal communication and organizational skills.
Ability to relate to people in a friendly and professional manner.
Ability to work to established procedures and maintain reliable work attendance.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Able to think and make effective decisions quickly.
Ability to create effective working relationships with people.
Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Valid Hawaii Driver’s License, with CDL “A” endorsement, and successful review of Motor Vehicle Record.
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Capable of being a certified fork lift operator as soon as a class is offered.

Responsibilities

Works from oral instructions and written work orders.
Cleans and washes vehicles, trucks, equipment, and tools.
Keeps all work areas, parking lots, areas surrounding buildings, storage yard, and warehouses clean by organizing, sweeping, washing, and picking up trash.
Cleans and maintains Shop tools and equipment.
Picks up and delivers parts and supplies. Handles errands for Fleet Shop as needed.
Ensures par levels are kept and communicates with Manager on supplies that need to be replenished.
Checks in freight and ensures all items are received and put in the appropriate warehouse location.
Operates a forklift to move material and load/unload.
Inputs basic data into Excel.
Performs other duties as assigned.
