Spend your days maintaining and repairing the County Fire Department's trucks, rescues, and EMS equipment. Perform diagnostic tests to identify, and rebuild and repair malfunctions on all diesel, gasoline, and electric equipment. Make repairs to all major and minor sub-systems. Diagnose hydraulic malfunctions, and engines, repair pumps, cylinders, and control valves. Perform maintenance and repairs on everything from UTVs, auto, light/heavy trucks, trailers, pumps, construction, and other heavy equipment. Troubleshoot and repair pumps, actuators, transmissions, compressors, pneumatic and electric controls, air-conditioning units, and components. May weld and cut parts using welding equipment. Perform inspections and serviceability/reliability checks/repairs/rebuilds on all brake, steering, and drive line components. Utilizes laptop computers to complete, and verify parts/labor, and inputs comments to detail repairs made. Perform maintenance and repairs on Fire/ EMS vehicles and equipment.
