About The Position

This position involves performing a variety of functions on fleet refrigeration equipment in accordance with company policy, federal, state, and local regulations, repair manuals, factory specifications, schematics, and the technician's own knowledge. The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive, and additional duties may be assigned. One of three positions is available: Fleet Refrigeration Maintenance Technician Class A, B, or C. The specific position offered will depend on the candidate's qualifications and work experience.

Requirements

  • Be at least 20 years old.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before start date).
  • Be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
  • Be able to lift a minimum of 65 pounds.
  • Be able to read, write, and solve math problems.
  • Successfully complete the following tests (before start date): Basic Office Skills, Following Written Instructions, Spatial Reasoning, Mechanical Reasoning.
  • Be able to interpret, understand, follow, and communicate instructions.
  • Be capable of generating and processing work on a computerized maintenance-management system.
  • Have mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of fleet refrigeration equipment, including circuits and operational sequence of components.
  • Have knowledge of soft/silver soldering, and GAS welding and cutting.
  • Be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Be able to supply and maintain hand tools to accomplish daily duties.
  • Must have the ability to work well with others and be a team member.
  • Must show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work.
  • Must show commitment to Publix’s mission.
  • Current Greensboro Distribution associate.
  • Be able to read and interpret technical manuals.
  • Have at least three years of refrigeration trade school or equivalent experience.
  • Have an approved Refrigerant Recycling and Service Certification.
