About The Position

CareFlite is seeking a detail-oriented Fleet Prep Technician to join our team in Bedford, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicle fleet through systematic inspection, maintenance, and preparation procedures. You will ensure all vehicles are clean, stocked, and prepped for delivery to the correct location, and that all tasks are completed proficiently. You will also ensure the safe operation of emergency vehicles in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as CareFlite policies. This role involves shuttling vehicles for repairs and service, washing and detailing vehicles to ensure they are ready for delivery, assisting the Fleet Services Manager in tracking vehicles for service readiness and preparation, communicating vendor performance issues, and ensuring vehicles are transported safely to and from facilities. You will collaborate with the Fleet Services Manager to address mechanical or monitoring device issues reported by crews, contribute to achieving KPIs and performance goals, and demonstrate a positive approach to problem-solving. You will possess and demonstrate sound judgment, clear and effective communication skills, and the ability to initiate work independently. Maintaining ethical, courteous, and professional behavior, adhering to the CareFlite Code of Ethics, promoting teamwork, demonstrating flexibility, and exhibiting a positive attitude are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Current Texas Class C driver’s license
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on information related to patients and personnel
  • Current City of Dallas Shuttle Permit or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, maintaining, and ensuring the safety and reliability of the vehicle fleet through systematic inspection, maintenance, and preparation procedures.
  • Ensuring all vehicles are clean, stocked, and prepped for delivery to the correct location.
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed proficiently.
  • Ensuring safe operation of emergency vehicles in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as CareFlite policies.
  • Shuttling vehicles for repairs and service.
  • Washing and detailing vehicles to ensure they are ready for delivery to the user, including washing exteriors, cleaning interiors, vacuuming carpets, and wiping down surfaces.
  • Assisting the Fleet Services Manager in tracking vehicles for service readiness and vehicle preparation.
  • Communicating any vendor performance issues to the Fleet Service Advisor.
  • Ensuring vehicles are transported to and from facilities safely and inspecting and reporting any issues to the service advisor.
  • Collaborating with the Fleet Services Manager to address and resolve mechanical or monitoring device issues reported by crews.
  • Contributing to achieving KPIs and performance goals by adhering to department standards.
  • Demonstrating a positive approach to problem solving and utilizing the chain of command appropriately to resolve work-related issues.
  • Possessing and demonstrating sound judgment and objectivity in decision-making.
  • Demonstrating clear and effective communication in both written and oral forms.
  • Possessing the ability to initiate work independently without direction and can be relied upon to complete tasks without continual supervision.
