The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for inspecting fleet equipment to locate and determine the extent of necessary repairs. This role involves repairing, replacing, and adjusting units and parts, as well as performing maintenance work to DOT standards for over-the-road equipment. The mechanic will also conduct general overhaul and repair work on various engine types and equipment, perform general repair, welding, and fabrication of fleet units, and conduct preventative maintenance including lubrication, oil changes, and annual inspections. Additionally, the position requires maintaining a clean work area and equipment, and keeping accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
