About The Position

The Fleet Mechanic performs preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Previous experience in a Fleet Shop environment preferred
  • High School or equivalent
  • Knowledge of NSC standards for commercial vehicles
  • Knowledge of Provincial and Federal Regulations for commercial fleets
  • Familiarity/proficiency with Fleet Management Software
  • Familiarity/proficiency with Parts Management
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment
  • Maintain a collaborative and team-oriented environment in the shop
  • Must provide own tools suitable for repair of Class 3-8 vehicles

  • Occasional travel to Depot locations may be required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain fleet vehicles with focus on Preventative Maintenance programs to meet compliance standards
  • Utilize fleet management computer programs to track shop operations
  • Assist with cost control through inventory management and reviewing third party estimates/invoices on external repairs
  • Responsible for maintenance of the shop quality requirements, cleanliness, and Occupational Health and Safety standards
  • Regularly inspect vehicles to ensure compliance with company standards as well as National Safety Code (NSC) standards
  • Conduct vehicle inspections on Class 1-8 vehicles in accordance with Provincial regulations
  • Document vehicle repairs and inspections according to company guidelines
  • Conduct all repairs in a safe and efficient manner
  • Follow all and any Company workplace conduct requirements and policies
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of role to support the business
