About The Position
Valley Pacific is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain its fleet of delivery trucks in the Stockton, CA area. This person will assist with maintaining and repairing the truck fleet. This person will also help track all maintenance records and DVIRS. The successful candidate will have excellent communication (listening), negotiation, and relationship-building skills. VPPS is looking for someone who has excellent interpersonal skills, is self-motivated, highly organized, and able to resolve problems. Must maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of a Class A diesel fleet mechanic.
- Knowledge of air brakes and related plumbing.
- Proficient in the diagnosis of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and AC systems.
- Knowledge of the mechanical requirements of the DOT/FMCSA/CHP for a HAZMAT fleet, performing intrastate commerce.
- Preventative maintenance background.
Nice To Haves
- Tanker fabrication and aluminum repair experience a plus.
- CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements a plus, but not required.
