Fleet Mechanic
About The Position
Trim Landscaping is a full-service landscaping company that provides commercial and large-scale high-end residential landscaping services in Nova Scotia. We are continually growing and are looking to add a Mechanic to our team in Bedford! We have done premier maintenance and design-build landscape projects like Argyle and Spring Garden Street, Queen’s Marque, and Peggy Cove’s Viewing Deck. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of vehicles, machinery, and equipment used across Trim Landscaping's operations. This role offers a diverse workload with opportunities to work on everything from small engines to heavy equipment. Flexibility for varied hours during winter snow operations and storm events (overnights and on call).
Requirements
- Experience working as a mechanic, heavy equipment technician, agricultural mechanic, or similar role
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Valid driver's license required
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and equipment (trucks, skid steers, loaders, excavators, commercial mowers etc.)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues
- Complete equipment inspections and safety checks
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Coordinate parts ordering and inventory management as required
- Support equipment readiness during peak landscaping and snow operations
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and urgent repair needs when necessary
