About The Position

US Foods is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to join their team. The primary responsibility is to ensure the fleet is safe and reliable by performing preventative maintenance and necessary repairs on all fleet equipment. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of the company's vehicles. The position is located in Woodburn, OR, with a schedule of Sunday - Wednesday, 9:00 PM - 7:30 AM. A tool allowance is provided, and the starting pay is $32.00/hour.

Requirements

  • 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
  • Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in administering appropriate PM program.
  • Must furnish own personal hand tools.
  • Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed).
  • Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Class-A CDL license and DOT certification
  • Experience using fleet maintenance software
  • Welding ability

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).
  • Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
  • Receive road calls, assign third-party vendors, and collaborate with business partners on a plan of action.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines.
  • Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
  • Provide backup support to other maintenance shop personnel.
  • Demonstrate willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and obtain certificates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
