About The Position

Fleet Mechanic - IDS at PITTSBURGH International Airport $28.00 per hour - Starting pay: $28.00/hr. | Full-time Position |Shoulder schedule will be 4 – Ten hour days Monday - Thursday, 0500 - 1530 May thru Sept. | Winter Operations schedule: Rotating-shifts based on Operational needs - Oct. – Apr. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be able to speak and hear efficiently
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills
  • Candidates must have your own basic set of tools (sockets/wrenches) up to 1" in size and up to 1/2" drive.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to manipulate multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines at once
  • Knowledge of fluid types, diesel powered machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Maintain and treat all information as confidential
  • Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
  • Must be able to verbally direct in English
  • Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives
  • Proven knowledge and use of standard and specialty tools and specialized testing equipment (i.e. photo tachometer, diagnostics tools and hardware, scanners and meters)
  • A valid driver’s license is required for this position and must be able to pass the requirements to obtain an airport badge
  • Ability to travel to our other IDS Airport stations to help our company when called upon. (TDY)

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for local maintenance scheduling and performance to ensure equipment dependability
  • Perform all duties of a skilled maintenance technician following recognized procedures for such work, as required
  • Ability to read and use maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and other related maintenance documents to complete work assignments
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic problems and resolve within an established timeframe
  • Maintain complete and accurate maintenance records and conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections on equipment
