The Fleet Mechanic performs skilled diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on a variety of municipal vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This position services gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles, light and heavy-duty trucks, emergency response vehicles, construction equipment, transit buses and other municipal fleet assets. The Fleet Mechanic works independently and as part of a team while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and customer service. Anticipated starting salary may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $32.26 per hour or $67,100.80 annually. The City of Scottsdale Fleet department is committed to hiring and maintaining a high-performance team. In an effort to do so, we offer a competitive additional compensation program for those who have and maintain current and qualifying ASE and EVT Certifications as well as reimburse for passed qualifying ASE/EVT Certification testing. Employees can earn up to an additional $5,000 annually for certifications above and beyond what is required for the position. This program is based on budget availability each fiscal year.
