Fleet Mechanic & Facility Maintenance Technician
About The Position
Medic 1 Ambulance is seeking a hands-on Fleet Mechanic & Facility Maintenance Technician to ensure our vehicles are safe, reliable, and compliant, and to maintain our stations and support buildings. This is a critical behind-the-scenes role that allows crews to focus on patient care. The position offers autonomy as the sole Mechanic with a dedicated shop. The typical schedule is 0700-1600, with some flexibility offered. This role is a vital part of the Medic 1 team, involving preventative maintenance, vehicle repairs, snow removal, and coordinating specialized facility work with outside contractors. The maintenance facility is equipped with 6 bays, two lifts, and necessary tools for routine repairs on ambulances and response vehicles. New hires will have the opportunity to train with the current technician for several months. This position is available due to the current technician relocating out of state.
Requirements
- Hands-on mechanic skills.
- Ability to keep vehicles safe, reliable, and compliant.
