About The Position
An Oil and Lube Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance on trucks, tractors, and trailers, prioritizing services based on operational needs. Duties include conducting inspections, recording findings, communicating repairs with drivers, and assisting mechanics as needed.
Requirements
- Previous mechanical experience of minor running repairs and operation of trucks, tractors and trailers is required
- Basic computer skills and understanding procedures regarding maintenance, inspections, parts and parts inventory
- Work at times under pressure and with minimal supervision to complete repairs
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
- Candidates must be willing to work safely and make safety a priority above all else. Adhere to safety policies and regulations, as well as, engage in best practice of safety initiatives
Responsibilities
- Prioritize truck, tractor and trailer services as per local, line-haul and U.S. units.
- Perform PM Level 1 and PM Level 2 services as required, input tire data, complete inspection and record findings with attention to safety related components.
- Communicate with drivers regarding repairs to equipment in a timely fashion.
- Verify and communicate PM Level 4 inspections coming due and major repairs required to Shop Foreman / Supervisor.
- Assist other mechanics and shop employees when required working as a Team.
- Complete electronic repair orders, assign parts to repair orders and add complete notes of work completed.
- Supply hand tools required to perform the requirements of a Lube & Oil Technician
- All other duties as required.
