Fleet Lead

Weave Robotics•San Francisco, CA
•$110,000 - $150,000

About The Position

Weave was founded to build the robots we’d want to have in our own home. We believe the next generation of robotics will transform everyday life by enabling people to do more and to reclaim time to spend on what’s important. We also believe robots are in a sense like any other product: to matter, they have to ship. Our robots are already operating in real homes and businesses, giving us the opportunity to rapidly improve from real-world experience. With a growing team, strong customer demand, and capital for expansion, we’re entering an exciting stage of growth—and we’re looking for people with exceptional talent and standards to help bring home robotics to millions of households. Isaac learns from people. Every task it masters tomorrow starts with an operator today. As Fleet Lead, you'll run the team that makes this happen, owning the day-to-day operation of Weave's robot fleet and leading the operators who keep the fleet running safely, reliably and efficiently. This is a metrics-driven and hands-on leadership role. Fleet operations is a numbers game: quality, throughput, uptime, and coverage all compound, and small operational improvements add up fast. We're looking for someone who can identify the metrics that actually matter, instrument the team around them, and manage actively against them, while caring deeply about the people doing the work.

Requirements

  • A leadership track record. You've led teams in robotics, fleet operations, logistics, field service, or a similarly operational environment and you've managed people to measurable outcomes as well as feelings of success
  • Metrics instinct. You understand data collection deeply enough to know it's a numbers game. You can cut through noise to pinpoint the metrics that matter, set targets, and use them to drive daily decisions rather than decorate slides.
  • Deep care for people. You believe accountability and empathy reinforce each other. You give direct feedback, celebrate wins, and invest in operators' growth.
  • Structure and clarity. Strong organizational and communication skills, with experience coordinating people and schedules.
  • Technical fluency. You're comfortable going beyond standard office software. Familiarity with Linux, the command line, or debugging tools is a plus.
  • A level head. You solve problems well under pressure and stay calm during time-sensitive incidents.
  • Strong documentation habits. You document issues clearly, gather operational feedback, and partner effectively with engineering to improve the product.
  • An all-hands-on-deck mindset. You thrive in a fast-paced startup where priorities shift quickly and everyone pitches in wherever they're needed.

Responsibilities

  • Run fleet operations. Own the day-to-day operation of Weave's robot fleet, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
  • Define and own the metrics. Determine which numbers actually drive data collection outcomes: quality, throughput, uptime, and efficiency. You’ll help build the dashboards and reviews around them, and hold the operation accountable to them.
  • Actively manage the operator team. Set clear, measurable expectations for each operator, review performance against the numbers regularly, and coach people to improve with honest feedback and genuine investment in their growth.
  • Plan staffing and coverage. Coordinate schedules, coverage, and shifting priorities across multiple concurrent operations.
  • Respond to incidents. Monitor fleet health, triage issues as they arise, and coordinate fast, calm responses to field incidents.
  • Build the playbook. Create and continuously refine SOPs, training materials, and operating procedures that raise the bar on safety, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Lead from the front. Step into operational workflows yourself whenever the team needs backup: running robots, covering shifts, and doing whatever it takes to keep fleet operations on track.
