About The Position

The Fleet IT Manager role for Centerline Logistics is responsible for planning, deploying, securing, and maintaining information technology systems across the company’s fleet of vessels and vehicles. This role serves as the primary point of ownership for fleet-based IT systems, ship-to-shore connectivity, and fleet technology standards. The Fleet IT Manager works closely with shoreside IT, vessel operations, vendors, and crews to ensure reliable, secure, and compliant technology services that support safe and efficient maritime operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience supporting and managing distributed IT environments with remote connectivity constraints.
  • Proficiency with networking, firewalls, VPNs, satellite or cellular connectivity, and Windows-based systems.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365, Entra, endpoint management, and security tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and network issues in maritime or industrial environments.
  • Experience managing vendors, contracts, and technology projects.
  • Willingness to travel to vessels and shipyards as needed.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours to support fleet schedules and operational demands.
  • Must pass background checks required for port and vessel access.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deploy, and maintain IT systems across all vessels, including networks, servers, communications, and onboard applications.
  • Own ship-to-shore connectivity solutions and ensure reliable data transfer between vessels and shoreside systems.
  • Establish and enforce fleet IT standards, security controls, and configuration baselines.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex IT issues and provide remote and on-site support as needed.
  • Coordinate vessel technology installations, upgrades, and decommissions during shipyard periods and new vessel acquisitions.
  • Manage fleet hardware, software, licensing, and lifecycle replacement planning.
  • Ensure data integrity, cybersecurity, and compliance with company policies and applicable maritime requirements.
  • Partner with IT leadership to align fleet technology strategy with organizational goals and operational needs.
  • Work with vendors, shipyards, and service providers for procurement, troubleshooting, and project execution.
  • Document fleet IT architectures, configurations, procedures, and support processes.
  • Participate in emergency response and after-hours support as required by vessel operations.
