About The Position

This role is responsible for the upkeep of the company’s fleet of trucks and trailers. This position will directly manage the day-to-day activities of the fleet, provide leadership and project management for fleet and have ownership of creating a positive and exciting work environment.

  • 10+ years of experience in facility or fleet maintenance leadership
  • Exceptional business leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and align Fleet equipment specifications with all aspects of Distribution
  • Stay current with all technologies and make proper adaptation to Fleet
  • Ensure maintenance standards will keep Fleet at high uptime status
  • Responsible for maintenance/PMs of all pallet jacks
  • Operate within described department and project budgets
  • Collaborate with industry peers concerning benchmarking and Fleet trends
  • Adhere to all areas of compliance within the trucking industry (DOT, EPA, etc.)
  • Seek and develop opportunities to grow SFTC role within parent company
  • Improve all areas of maintenance provided, consistently raise standards
  • Maintain all levels of licensing, registrations and insurance standards
  • Consistently research & develop vendors in all areas of Fleet operation
  • Keep Fleet facilities organized and clean, including lots & perimeters
  • Monitor and maintain fuel supplies for all locations
  • Understand, train and optimize all aspects of Fleet CMMS
  • Collect required information and plan or respond to all planned or unplanned fleet needs.
  • Determine effectiveness of Fleet repairs by use of internal or external labor sources
  • Provide planning and direction for all Fleet PM and repair work
  • Oversee all in/out movement from inventory. Manage warranties, cores and defect returns. Coordinate deliveries from vendors
  • Research and review current inventory. Remove any non-moving part, coordinate return with vendors. Quote high volume parts that can be bulk purchased
  • Manage all company business according to the cultural objectives of the company (values and behaviors)
  • Understand and execute the principles of the company’s Operational Excellence program driving the right behaviors, standards and continuous improvement across all operating entities
  • Participate in cross-functional teams as required to advance the business interests of the company
  • Compliance with all company and regulatory policies/guidelines relating to associate safety, food safety and food quality
