About The Position

Cross Environmental Services (CES) is a premier demolition and abatement contractor. The nature of our work demands maximum durability and performance from our machinery. We rely on a robust, heavily utilized fleet of commercial trucks and earth-moving equipment to execute complex teardowns and site clearances safely and efficiently. We are seeking a versatile, highly skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair our diverse lineup of commercial vehicles and heavy demolition equipment. From semis and roll-off trucks to excavators and skid steers, you will be the primary line of defense against equipment downtime. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a strong background in diesel mechanics, heavy hydraulics, and structural welding repairs.

Requirements

Proven, hands-on experience maintaining and repairing both commercial diesel trucks and heavy earth-moving equipment.
Deep technical understanding of diesel engine diagnostics, complex hydraulic circuits, heavy-duty suspensions, and air brake systems.
Uncompromising commitment to shop safety protocols, heavy lifting standards, and hazardous materials handling (fluids, batteries).
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

Strong background in MIG and Stick (SMAW) welding, specifically related to heavy equipment repair and high-stress structural steel.
A valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to test drive and transport commercial vehicles.
ASE Medium-Heavy Truck certifications, fluid power (hydraulics) certifications, or specific manufacturer training (e.g., CAT, Bobcat, Mack, Kenworth).

Responsibilities

Maintain, diagnose, and repair commercial vehicles and heavy demolition equipment.
Perform repairs on semis, roll-off trucks, excavators, and skid steers.
Address issues related to diesel engine diagnostics, hydraulic circuits, heavy-duty suspensions, and air brake systems.
Adhere to shop safety protocols, heavy lifting standards, and hazardous materials handling.
